The Cats Meow (Gioachino Rossini, adapted by Kevin Amos) 4.36
Mark Steyn, vocals
arranged and conducted by Kevin Amos
from the album Feline Groovy: Songs for Swingin' Cats
Rossini's duetto buffo di due gatti - his cats' duet - is probably the most famous piece of classical cat music. Here, we've doubled the number of cats - Mark plus a trio of kittenish cuties - and relocated it in a groovy 1960s nightclub, with the three movements updated to a lounge smooch, a jazz waltz, and a wild Brazilian samba to bring it all to one crazy conclusion. Plus a feline take on the Lone Ranger, just for fun. |
