If you remember our Song of the Week #107, you'll know that Hugh Martin & Ralph Blane wrote "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" for Judy Garland in the film Meet Me In St Louis. Since then it's been sung by everybody from Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra to James Taylor and Bob Dylan. But it occurred to Mark that most of these "Merry Little Christmases" aren't terribly merry, and he and Jessica Martin thought it would be fun to jolly it up a bit. So here's a fun up-tempo "Have Yourself A Merry..." that we hope lives up to the title (although we did keep the Meet In St Louis music box for the instrumental break).
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is also available in old-fashioned CD form on the brand new album Making Spirits Bright and on the mini-album Gingerbread & Eggnog. |
