produced by Mark Steyn Jessica Martin sang "The Perfect Year" on stage in the 2009 West End revival of Sunset Boulevard - and she reprised her performance on that year's edition of The Mark Steyn Christmas Show on which the song's lyricist, Don Black, was one of her fellow guests. Now Mark and Kevin Amos have reconceived the song for Miss Martin as a shimmering, intoxicating New Year solo. It's Jessica's response to Mark's musical question, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" - and together these songs make a perfect double.
